The school system should not teach anything except reading, writing and arithmetic

Pittsboro, NC – I appreciate all of the Critical Race Theory (CRT) dialogues. If you’ll allow me, I’d just like to say that whether we agree with what’s in CRT or the way it’s presented or not, it comes down to someone’s point of view, opinions and morals another. Some of us will agree with the company or organization presenting it, but some of us will not, so the battle continues.

For me, it boils down to the fact that I am solely responsible for teaching my children and that the school system should teach nothing but reading, writing and arithmetic. I will always reject anything that takes away from my child and yours the right to think for themselves. I pray that we teach them love and kindness. But again, we parents have to start taking responsibility for what we teach our children. Mine are adults, I have regrets (a lot) but wisdom comes with time and experience and fortunately mine are kind and loving while being strong and fierce. Our country, while not perfect, is also developing wisdom. It is a natural process.

As an adult I am responsible for ridding my heart of anything but love and kindness to my fellow man and I don’t need meetings or rules or anything. another imposed on my ears, my mind or my eyes to tell me what my heart is. You can change a person’s behavior but NOT their heart.

As a Christian, the Bible teaches me daily to turn my heart toward others, to turn the other cheek when they cannot do the same, but it is ALWAYS about the heart. I fail miserably at times, but I am still evolving through the change of that same heart. With this, the behavior changes voluntarily.

If you are not a Christian, you can find answers or advice from any source you choose, but I pray that we find advice from within rather than the other way around.
